Last weekend I decided to go on a bit of a post-holiday cleanse or reset focusing on only eating raw fruit and vegetables. It wasn’t as flawless as I had hoped but for the most part I feel satisfied with the mission. I drank lots of water and tea, ate plenty of salads and random recipes.
What I didn’t so well in was I didn’t consistently consume enough calories because I sometimes got bored of eating cold food. My favourite savoury recipes were sushi rolls and zoodles with avocado. I also enjoyed soaking mushroom in balsamic vinegar and sometimes tamari for an umami taste.
The best thing about my meal plan by far was having ice-cream every single day for breakfast. Well, nice cream.
They were all delicious but my favourite recipe was the Maple Vanilla combo with hemp. I use my base recipe below for all nice cream and have left some flavour and toppings suggestions.
NICE CREAM RECIPE
2 frozen bananas
2 tbsp almond butter
1 c of frozen fruit of your choice or
1-2 tbsp flavour of choice (eg. cocoa, matcha, vanilla…)
Blend all ingredients in a blender. Use a splash of water or non-dairy milk if your blender needs help.
