How I’m Changing My Life (with my blog)

When I started this blog my only real expectation was to post daily and have fun doing it in order to really improve my writing skills. Since then I’ve been thinking plenty about the focus – if it’s even necessary.

You’re more likely to accomplish a goal if you write it down and declare it to someone.

It dawned on me this morning that at the heart of it, I want my blog to broadly explore the concept of change. The motivation, impetus (or lack) of it, the process and sustainability. That’s what I want my blog to be about.

I have been intentionally transforming my life over the last 2 years to be as close to the whole life I want to live and live in. Since I’m still on the journey I figured I should share the gripes and glories as I go about changing aspects of it. I want to find a way to capture it all as it happens but also share some of my learning this far if it renders useful to someone thinking about change too. I also want to be able to one day reflect back on it all and try to make sense of it from a future lens. My hope is to continue to push myself to do the impossible, authentically and share as much of it as I go through it in real time.

More concretely, I want to align my blog with the goals/ improvement areas I set for myself. Currently they live in my bullet journal and are areas around daily habits and goals of life, work and play. I’ve already been using a mix of my journal and an online spreadsheet to track my goals and set a date to begin some that are much harder for me. Perhaps I’ll find a ways to share about some of the tools I use and how I use them…

More broadly, I plan on occasionally writing about broader questions of change we’re thinking about in our societies as I feel inspired to. While my primary medium is writing, I also hope to find ways to use multimedia as much as it feels possible.

Let me know what you think about this and if you have ideas for me about how to go about it.

live + love,
tinashe
